Emergency Department Nurse

Job Overview

The Emergency Department provides 24/7 medical care to critically ill and injured patients. The team is composed of specially-trained emergency physicians and nurses, utilizing the latest monitoring equipment to ensure safe and efficient patient care.

Schedule

  • Rotating shifts from 11 AM to 11 PM and 3 PM to 3 AM
  • Every other weekend is required

Key Responsibilities

  • Administer emergency medical care to patients of various age groups in a combined adult and pediatric setting.
  • Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care effectively.
  • Monitor and interpret EKG readings and maintain IV access as needed.
  • Administer blood products and other medications per established protocols.
  • Utilize proper PPE to ensure safety while caring for patients.
  • Document patient care accurately using Meditech or similar charting software.

Qualifications

  • Current certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI, NIHSS, and PALS required.
  • Proficient in EKG reading and monitoring, blood product administration, and IV skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate CVA skills and effectively manage emergency procedures.
