Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team in the Clinical Decision Unit. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to adult and geriatric patients in a fast-paced environment. This position requires flexibility as the nurse may float to the Emergency Department as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive nursing care in alignment with established protocols and care standards.
• Monitor patient vitals and administer medications, including management of heparin protocols and cardiac drips.
• Perform IV therapy, phlebotomy, and blood product administration.
• Assist in neurological and psychiatric care, including management of stroke patients, seizures, and substance withdrawal.
• Provide respiratory care, including the operation of CPAP, BiPAP, and assistance with ventilated patients and tracheostomy management.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure the best possible outcomes for patients.

Shift Information

This position requires 3 twelve-hour night shifts per week from 7 PM to 7 AM, with every other weekend required. Nurses can choose between guaranteed hours of 36 or 48 per week.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in West Virginia or a compact RN license.
• A minimum of 2 years of nursing experience is required, with at least 1 year of experience in a relevant specialty.
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and CPI (CPI must be obtained at least one week prior to start date).
• CERNER experience is required.
• Experience in telemetry and emergency holding is preferred.

Special Skills

• Proficient in IV therapy and management of peripheral lines.
• Knowledge in neurological and psychiatric emergency care.
• Experience with respiratory care and non-invasive airway management.

Additional Information

No call requirements are included in this position. Flu shots are mandatory for all staff unless an allergy is documented. COVID-19 vaccination is not required.
