Job Summary
Emergency Room Registered Nurse in Louisville, Kentucky. This position involves providing high-quality care in a busy ER environment, handling a diverse patient population including infants, geriatrics, and unhoused individuals. The RN will be responsible for managing critical patients with a wide range of diagnoses, utilizing advanced skills in trauma assessment, coding, and bedside procedures.

Job Details

  • Schedule: Nights shift from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM, minimum of 36 hours per week, with a 12-hour shift cycle.
  • Required Qualifications: RN license, BLS, ACLS, PALS, NIHSS certifications, 1+ years of ER experience, including skills such as IV starts, Foley and NG tube insertions, neuro assessments, triage, codes, and initiation/titration of pressors, cardiac drips, sedation, and insulin.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with neuro assessments (NIHSS), and familiarity with Emergency Department technology and equipment such as ultrasound (U/S), vascular access devices (VAD), EMR systems, monitors, and unit-specific equipment.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required.
  • Additional Information: Orientation includes 2 days of unit-specific training at the facility. The RN will work in a high-need area, with a schedule coordinated six weeks in advance. RTO must be approved by management. Periodic holiday rotations are expected, but not all holidays will be worked. The position requires scrubs in royal blue and parking access is provided free of charge in a garage.
