Job Summary
Emergency Room (ER) Nurse - Rural Setting This position is based in a rural healthcare facility with a 13-bed Emergency Department (ER) and 2 Trauma Rooms. The role involves providing high-quality emergency care for a diverse patient population, including cardiac, neurological, and general medical cases. The ER operates with a team of dedicated professionals to ensure patient safety and efficient care delivery.
Job Details
- Required Qualifications: Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS); minimum of 1 year of ER experience; active license to submit; location in the designated area; schedule includes 12-hour rotating shifts totaling at least 36 hours weekly.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience working in a trauma level STEMI receiving stroke center in a rural setting.
- Responsibilities: Providing emergency nursing care, interpreting cardiac rhythms, troubleshooting ventilators, drawing labs, and collaborating with physicians and mid-level providers during shifts.
- Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS are required.
- Schedule: 12-hour rotating shifts, weekends and holidays as scheduled.
- Submission Requirements: Applicants must be able to submit an active nursing license.
- Additional Information: The ER treats approximately 40 patients daily, with in-house RT coverage for ventilators, and operates with a mix of shifts and staff members including RTs, nurse aides, EMTs, and paramedics.
