TotalMed RN is seeking a travel nurse RN ED - Emergency Department for a travel nursing job in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
UNIT: Emergency Room
CLINICAL INTERVIEW W/MGR APPROVAL
Experience Required: 2 years. First time travelers accepted only if they have 3+ years of Level 1 trauma center.
Beds: 55 horizontal, 6 vertical, 15 observation, 5 BH holding
Census? Average patients/day? 200-220
Certs Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, TNCC.
Floating: Could float to the ED Transition Care Unit
Patient Types/Common Diagnoses: Unit is currently under renovation – 1st of 3 phases is complete. Will receive many air flights in – will have 2 fixed wind helicopter pads post renovation. Regional Trauma Center – will see all ED patients. Travelers will not likely be utilized in Trauma bays during initial contracts. GSWs, stabbings multi trauma, MVC, MI, CVA, hypothermia, drownings, falls, conscious sedations, defibrillating, cardiac arrest/respiratory arrest, sexual assault, overdoses. Psychosis, Pacing, Vent management, Blunt trauma
Patient Ratios: RN: 3:1, 4:1, 5:1. 6:1 based on clinical area worked or acuity

EMR: Epic
IV Pump: Alaris
Med dispensing: Omnicell
Monitors: Phillips
Unit specific equipment: GE Ultrasounds for point of care. GE EKG machines
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other
No call required
Holiday Expectations: Travelers will work 75% of holidays
RTO: Manager approval
Shift time: 1930-0730
Schedule cycle: every 6 weeks
