  • Schedule Quality: Night shift coverage.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Will be trained as relief Charge Nurse in the ED and provide Critical Response support to the inpatient Med/Surg floor as needed.
  • On-Call Requirement: None.

    Guaranteed Hours: 36 Hours Per Week

Absolute Minimum Qualifications & Clinical Hardstops:

  • Licensure Mandate: Active, unencumbered Texas (TX) State RN License or eNLC Compact RN License held in hand at submission.
  • Experience Baseline: Minimum 2+ years of dedicated Emergency Department (ED) clinical experience.
  • Core Certifications Required: Active AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, and PALS (or ENPC) certifications. (TNCC certification preferred).
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Expectation: Candidate must be willing to train/act as relief Charge Nurse and respond to Critical Response/Rapid Response calls on the Med/Surg unit.
  • Clinical Scope: Demonstrated competency in emergency triage, trauma resuscitation, acute pediatric/adult stabilization, and inter-facility transfer protocols.

A Hospital in Austin, TX is seeking an autonomous, highly adaptable Emergency Department Registered Nurse for a 12-week night assignment. Operating within a community Level IV Trauma Center, the RN will manage acute adult and pediatric emergency presentations, drive emergency triage, coordinate inter-facility transfers for high-acuity cases, and support facility-wide critical response coverage.

  • Emergency Triage & Patient Assessment: Execute rapid physical and diagnostic evaluations for adult and pediatric patients presenting with acute trauma, chest pain/STEMI, stroke, respiratory distress, and minor illnesses.
  • Trauma & Resuscitation Interventions: Administer life-saving emergency care, initiate IV/IO lines, titrate vasoactive infusions, manage advanced airways, and perform procedural sedation assistance.
  • Transfer & Stabilization Coordination: Rapidly stabilize high-acuity patients requiring specialized tertiary care and facilitate seamless transfers to primary network facilities.
  • Relief Leadership & Critical Response: Function as relief Charge Nurse for the 9-bed ED and deliver emergency clinical assistance as Critical Response support for the 12-bed inpatient Med/Surg unit.
  • Documentation & Dress Code: Utilize Compass/Cerner EHR for real-time charting; Navy Blue scrubs required.
