Description

American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry/Observation Unit RN for a night shift position requiring an active RN license (IN or compact) and BLS certification.

Details

  • 32-bed Observation Unit affiliated with the Emergency Department for patients expected to stay less than 24 hours
  • Patient population includes chest pain, cardiac arrhythmias, heart catheterizations, laparoscopic cholecystectomies, UTIs, and DVTs
  • Provider on-site daily from 7a-5p
  • 3rd shift schedule, 7p-7a
  • 36 hours per week across three 12-hour shifts

Requirements

  • Active, unrestricted RN license (IN or compact)
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
  • ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred
  • No prior experience required
  • Strong assessment, critical thinking, and prioritization skills in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in medication administration, wound care, IV therapy, and use of medical equipment

Additional Information

  • Provide direct patient care including assessments, treatments, and care coordination through admission, transfer, and discharge
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to facilitate individualized treatment planning and timely discharge
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits
  • Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members as needed
