Dialysis Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Dialysis Registered Nurse for a 13-week travel assignment in Scottsbluff, Nebraska. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to adult patients undergoing both chronic and acute dialysis treatments.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing dialysis procedures, monitoring patient responses, and ensuring optimal patient outcomes within a dynamic healthcare environment. This position requires a strong clinical background in nephrology nursing and the ability to adapt to varying patient needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients undergoing hemodialysis and peritoneal dialysis.
  • Assess patient conditions before, during, and after dialysis treatments, identifying and responding to changes appropriately.
  • Initiate, monitor, and discontinue dialysis treatments according to established protocols and physician orders.
  • Manage and maintain vascular access sites, including assessment, cannulation, and troubleshooting.
  • Administer medications as prescribed and monitor for adverse reactions.
  • Educate patients and their families on dialysis procedures, dietary restrictions, medication regimens, and self-care techniques.
  • Collaborate effectively with nephrologists, interdisciplinary team members, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
  • Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care, observations, and interventions.
  • May be required to float to other units, departments, or patient care areas, including Med-Surg Adult, based on staffing and operational needs.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license.
  • Minimum of 1-2 years of recent clinical experience in Dialysis (Chronic and/or Acute).
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Current Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification.
