Job Title: Registered Nurse - Dialysis Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: In-Patient Dialysis Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Days Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 1 year of inpatient dialysis experience License: Registered Nurse license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS, CDN or CNN preferred Must-Have: Travelers must be separated for 1 year if previously a permanent staff. First-time travelers must have 2 years of permanent staff RN experience in acute care. Description: The RN will work in an in-patient dialysis setting. The shift will typically be from 8 AM to 8 PM with call requirements. You will be responsible for the care of hemodialysis or peritoneal dialysis patients. Experience with accessing fistulas and dialysis catheters is required. Critical thinking skills are essential. The RN will be expected to travel between multiple facilities. Nurses will float to different facilities frequently. The ideal nurse-to-patient ratio in inpatient pods is 1:3. On certain units, the ratio is 1:1. There are techs available who function at their home facilities. The RN will be required to pass an EKG competency exam as part of compliance. There will be support from a charge nurse at each facility. The RN should be familiar with the functionality of water machines. The charting system in use is an electronic medical record. There may be scheduling requirements to work weekends and holidays. The RN must be flexible with scheduling. The required scrub color is pewter, and shirts must be gray, white, or black with the facility monogram. Badges must always be visible above the waist. This role involves working 5-6 call shifts per schedule. The RN may work 2 out of 3 holidays.
