CVOR Travel Nurse Job Details

  • Specialty: CVOR Registered Nurse / Operating Room Nurse
  • Healthcare Setting: Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) and Operating Room
  • Location: Farmington, Connecticut
  • Schedule: 10-hour day shifts with variable start times, including approximately 7:00 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:00 a.m., or 1:00 p.m.
  • Weekly Hours: Approximately 40 hours per week
  • Call: Approximately 3–4 call shifts per month, including at least one weekend per month; rotating holiday call may be required
  • Report Time: 30 minutes
  • Assignment Duration: 16-week travel nursing assignment
  • Start Date: November 16, 2026
  • Estimated Weekly Pay: $3,120–$3,290

CVOR Registered Nurse Job Requirements

  • At least 4–5 years of operating room nursing experience, or equivalent combined OR experience
  • Strong independent circulating experience is required; CVOR scrub experience is preferred but not required
  • Demonstrated experience circulating orthopedic, spine, and neurologic surgical procedures
  • Ability to work across multiple surgical specialties and adapt to changing procedural needs
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with eligibility for or active licensure in Connecticut
  • Current Nursys verification or other documentation as required
  • Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certification
  • Ability to participate in rotating call, weekend, holiday, and additional coverage requirements

Operating Room Nurse Responsibilities

  • Circulate cardiovascular and other surgical procedures while maintaining a safe, organized, and efficient operating room
  • Support CVOR cases and collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia professionals, surgical technologists, and the broader perioperative team
  • Apply independent circulating expertise during orthopedic, spine, neurologic, and other specialty procedures
  • Complete surgical counts, clinical documentation, specimen handling, equipment preparation, and infection prevention procedures
  • Anticipate procedural needs and respond effectively to changes in case flow or patient condition
  • Participate in scheduled call, rotating weekend and holiday coverage, and additional hours when needed to support patient care
  • Promote teamwork, patient safety, clear communication, and high-quality perioperative care
