HIGH-PAY DAY-SHIFT CARDIOVASCULAR OPERATING ROOM (CVOR) RN CONTRACT – ASCENSION ALEXIAN BROTHERS

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois (Greater Chicago Northwest Suburbs). Operating within the specialized cardiac surgical suites at Ascension Alexian Brothers Medical Center, this position features a desirable 5x8 early daytime schedule (06:00 AM - 14:30 PM / 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday). PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $3,268.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $2,268.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $25.00/hr (40 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $37.50/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours (06:00 AM - 14:30 PM / 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • On-Call Requirements: Departmental CVOR call rotation for off-shifts and weekends as scheduled by surgical services.
  • Work Setting & Procedural Scope: Main Operating Room (Operating Room 001). Managing high-complexity open-heart cases, adult cardiac surgery, CABG, valve replacements/repairs, aortic procedures, vascular reconstructions, and thoracic surgery.
  • Core Competencies: Circulating open-heart procedures, sterile field oversight, surgical time-out protocols, intraoperative medication delivery, blood salvage/administration, and emergency cardiovascular interventions.
  • EMR System: Cerner (Ascension Cerner test-out completed during onboarding).

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated clinical CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) RN circulating experience in an acute care hospital setting.
  • Licensure: Active Illinois RN License or Compact/NLC Multistate License in hand at submittal.
  • Certifications Required:
    • American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS).
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS).
  • Onboarding Testing: Standard Ascension compliance modules, specialty/pharmacology/EKG exams, and core competencies.

Call Rotation Notice: Candidate must agree to participate in the CVOR surgical team call rotation (weekday nights and weekend coverage). Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active IL single-state or Compact RN license, BLS, and ACLS must be active and attached at submission. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be presented upfront with the profile packet.
