CVOR Registered Nurse (RN)

Assignment Details

Length: 13 weeks

Shift: 10 Hour Days, 07:00 AM - 05:30 PM

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide nursing care in the Operating Room, specifically for Cardiac, Neuro, Ortho, and Vascular cases.
  • Function as both a scrub and circulating nurse, ensuring patient safety and adherence to surgical protocols.
  • Participate in call rotations as needed, including weekends and holidays.
  • Demonstrate flexibility in scheduling and availability for variable days.

Experience Requirements

  • Minimum of 2-3 years as a Registered Nurse with recent experience in Cardiac (Open Heart) surgery.
  • At least 12 months of documented experience at an academic medical institution or a Level 1 trauma facility in a major metropolitan area.

Licensure & Certifications

  • Active Florida RN license or Compact RN license must be provided at the time of submission.
  • BLS certification is required; ACLS certification is preferred.

Skills & Competencies

  • Recent experience using Epic electronic medical records (EMR).
  • Ability to work under pressure and prioritize multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Strong knowledge of cardiac rhythms and the ability to pass required competency exams.

Additional Information

All new RN starts must successfully complete a Basic Specialty Competency exam and an EKG exam, with a minimum score of 80%. Candidates are strongly encouraged to review cardiac rhythms prior to their start date.
