DAY-SHIFT CARDIOVASCULAR OPERATING ROOM (CVOR) RN CONTRACT – ASCENSION ALEXIAN BROTHERS

First Connect Health has an immediate 13-week travel contract opening for an experienced Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse (RN) in Elk Grove Village, Illinois (Greater Chicago Northwest Suburbs). Operating within the specialized surgical suites at Ascension Alexian Brothers, this position features a desirable 5x8 early day schedule (06:00 AM - 14:30 PM / 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday through Friday). PRE-CALCULATED PAY PACKAGE

  • Weekly Gross: $3,245.00
  • Weekly Tax-Free Stipend: $2,205.00
  • Hourly W2 Rate: $26.00/hr (40 regular hours)
  • Overtime Rate: $39.00/hr

SHIFT & POSITION DETAILS

  • Schedule: Day shifts, 5x8-Hours (06:00 AM - 14:30 PM / 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, Monday – Friday).
  • Guaranteed Hours: 40 regular hours guaranteed weekly.
  • On-Call Requirements: Dedicated surgical call rotation:
    • Five (5) 16-hour weekday call shifts per 4-week scheduling block.
    • Two (2) full weekend call coverage periods (48 hours each) per 4-week block.
  • Work Setting & Scope: Cardiovascular Surgery Suite (Surgery 001). Managing high-complexity open-heart cases, adult cardiac surgery, vascular reconstructions, thoracic procedures, intraoperative hemodynamic monitoring, and cardiovascular surgical instrumentation.
  • Core Competencies: Circulating open-heart procedures, sterile field oversight, surgical time-out protocols, intraoperative medication management, blood salvage/administration, and emergency cardiovascular interventions.
  • EMR System: Cerner.

REQUISITE QUALIFICATIONS FOR SUBMISSION

  • Experience: Minimum 1–2 years of dedicated clinical CVOR (Cardiovascular Operating Room) RN circulating experience is required.
  • Licensure: Active Illinois RN License in hand (Illinois is an NLC Compact state; active Compact or IL single-state license accepted).
  • Certifications Required: * American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS)
    • AHA Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • Onboarding Testing: Standard Ascension compliance modules, exams (Pharmacology, Specialty, EKG, Core Competencies), and Cerner test-out.

Location Details: Assignment is located at Ascension Alexian Brothers, 800 Biesterfield Rd, Elk Grove Village, IL 60007. Call Commitment Notice: Candidate must agree to the facility call structure: 5 weekday call shifts (16 hrs each) and 2 full weekend call blocks (48 hrs each) per 4-week schedule. Submittal Rules & Compliance: Active IL single-state or Compact RN license and active BLS/ACLS must be in hand at time of submission. All Requested Time Off (RTO) must be presented upfront with the submittal package. Local candidates residing nearby are accepted (under adjusted local rate guidelines).
