Travel Nursing Job Details
- Weekly Estimated Pay: $2,430–$2,550
- Location: Springfield, Illinois
- Assignment Length: 13 weeks
- Start Date: October 19, 2026
- Schedule: 3 shifts per week; 12-hour day shifts
- Shift Hours: 6:30 a.m.–7:00 p.m.
- Hours per Week: 36
- Unit: Cardiac Catheterization Lab (Cath Lab)
- Healthcare Setting: Acute-care, Level I trauma center
- Unit Profile: Five-room procedural unit with an average daily census of approximately 25 patients
- Weekend Commitment: Approximately 2–3 weekend shifts during the assignment
- Call: Required as needed
- Floating: May be required within the nurse’s scope of practice to support patient-care needs
- Orientation: 36 hours, including virtual pre-start requirements
Cardiac Cath Lab Registered Nurse Requirements
- Current Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois, active and in hand at the time of submission
- At least 1 year of recent cardiac catheterization, CVOR, or cardiovascular procedural nursing experience
- Experience in interventional and diagnostic cardiac catheterization
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
- Clinical experience with adult diagnostic catheterizations, interventional catheterizations, left and right heart catheterizations, and pulmonary artery line or Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Procedural sedation administration and monitoring experience
- Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias
- Experience with Cerner electronic medical records
- Strong assessment, communication, prioritization, and teamwork skills in a fast-paced cardiac procedural environment
Cardiac Catheterization Lab Nursing Responsibilities
- Provide safe, high-quality nursing care to adult and geriatric patients before, during, and after cardiac catheterization procedures
- Circulate for diagnostic and interventional cardiac procedures in the Cath Lab
- Prepare patients, verify procedure readiness, and monitor responses throughout the episode of care
- Administer and monitor procedural sedation in accordance with established standards and protocols
- Recognize, interpret, and respond to dysrhythmias and changes in patient condition
- Support left and right heart catheterization procedures and pulmonary artery line or Swan-Ganz monitoring
- Collaborate with cardiologists, physicians, nurses, rapid response teams, and interdisciplinary staff to promote efficient patient flow and positive outcomes
- Document assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately in Cerner
- Participate in call coverage, weekend scheduling, and in-scope floating as needed
