Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with a focus on Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will provide high-acuity surgical support in cardiothoracic surgery and must possess a thorough understanding of operating room protocols. Experience in scrubbing is preferred but not mandatory.

Shift Information

This position offers a day shift schedule of 4x10 hours, from 07:00 AM to 05:30 PM. The role includes on-call expectations, with specific weekday and weekend call shifts required.

Unit Overview

The CVOR team operates within a multi-service Level-II Trauma Center that features 15 surgical suites, including one hybrid operating room. The unit is supported by three cardiothoracic surgeons and five vascular surgeons, providing a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in cardiothoracic surgery with high-acuity surgical support.
  • Proficiency in circulating across core service lines in the operating room.
  • Experienced in Electronic Medical Records (EMR), specifically with EPIC.
  • Must possess an unrestricted, active RN license in Virginia or have a compact state license.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications are required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide safe and effective nursing care in the operating room environment.
  • Assist in high-acuity surgeries, ensuring optimal patient outcomes.
  • Collaborate with surgical teams and other healthcare professionals to deliver excellent patient care.
  • Effectively utilize and navigate EPIC for patient documentation and care coordination.
