Registered Nurse (RN) - CVOR

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) specializing in Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) to provide high-quality nursing care within a fast-paced surgical environment. This role involves working closely with a diverse patient population, including adults and geriatrics, operating within an open heart surgery unit.

Shift Details

• Shift: Day 3x12-Hour (06:30 - 19:00)
• Floating: May occasionally float to the Main OR
• On-Call: Overnight call approximately 2x/week; Regular day call about 1x/month; approximately 2 weekend call shifts

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care during cardiovascular surgical procedures.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions pre- and post-operatively.
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
• Educate patients and families on procedures and recovery plans.
• Stay abreast of advances in surgical techniques and patient care for cardiovascular procedures.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers are accepted.
• Experience in endovascular procedures and vascular service lines, including EVAR.
• Preferred experience with CSI and Penumbra technologies.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• Proficient in Epic and Pyxis systems is preferred.

Patient Care Ratio

The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:1, ensuring focused care for each surgical patient.

Compliance Requirements

Full compliance is required to ensure timely start dates. Candidates will undergo a clinical screen to determine their fit for the role.

Holiday Work Expectations

Traveling RNs may be required to work major holidays during their assignment period:

• Memorial Day
• Independence Day
• Labor Day
• Thanksgiving/Black Friday
• Christmas Eve/Christmas Day
• New Year’s Eve/New Year’s Day

If assigned during these holidays, the RN is expected to work up to two major holidays depending on the assignment period.

Scrub Attire

All surgical staff will be provided with OR scrubs by the facility.

Time Off Requests

A maximum of 7 days of request time off (RTO) is allowed, with every other weekend required unless otherwise specified.
