Travel Registered Nurse - CardioVascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Position Description

We are seeking a skilled Travel Registered Nurse for the CardioVascular Operating Room (CVOR). This position requires a dedicated and experienced nurse to join our team in a fast-paced and high-demand environment.

Unit Information

Location: Houston, TX

Unit Type: CardioVascular Operating Room

Unit Overview

• Number of CVORs: 5 (including 1 Hybrid and 1 Hybrid shared with Cath Lab)
• Staffing: 7 Registered Nurses (including 1 Clinical Nurse Coordinator, 1 PRN, 1 Part-Time), 6 Certified Surgical Technologists
• Shift Type: Day Shift
• Patient Ratios: Based on unit needs
• EMR System: [To be provided]

Responsibilities

The primary responsibilities include:

• Providing high-quality nursing care in the CardioVascular Operating Room.
• Assisting in a variety of advanced cardiac and vascular surgical procedures.
• Working effectively under pressure and responding adeptly to emergency situations.
• Collaboration with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 2 years of exclusive CVOR experience in cardiac and vascular surgery.
• BLS and ACLS certifications are required.

Preferred Qualifications:

• 5+ years of CVOR experience.
• Experience in scrub and circulating roles.

Typical Procedures Performed

• Vascular: Open and Endovascular procedures.
• Complex Cardiac: Includes Type A dissections, sternotomies, CABG, AVR, MVR, VSD repairs, Impella/ECMO insertions, and a variety of robotic and endovascular procedures.
