First Connect Health is seeking a travel nurse RN CVICU for a travel nursing job in Houston, Texas.

CVICU RN – 48 Hours / Days / Nights

Assignment: 10/19/2026 – 11/29/2026
Duration: 6 weeks
Shift: 12-hour days
Guaranteed Hours: 48 hours/week
Weekend: 6 weekend shifts during the assignment

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of ICU experience
  • Previous travel nursing experience preferred
  • Experience in a busy, high-acuity hospital preferred
  • EPIC experience required
  • ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS required
  • CRRT experience preferred; training available
  • Must be comfortable floating based on competency
  • Strong cardiac ICU/CVICU experience preferred
  • Experience with titrating vasoactive drips
  • No self-scheduling
  • Flexible with scheduling based on unit needs

Patient Population & Experience:

  • Heart and lung transplant patients
  • LVAD patients
  • CABG and valve surgery patients
  • High-acuity cardiovascular patients
  • Experience with CRRT/SLED, Impella, IABP, and LVAD devices preferred
  • Typical nurse-to-patient ratio: 1:2, occasionally 1:1
  • Intensivist model with RT coverage in the ICU 24/7

Additional Details:

  • 25-bed high-acuity CVICU across two units
  • 12-hour shifts
  • Teal scrubs
  • Unit-specific orientation with 2–3 preceptor shifts
  • No call or standby requirement
