CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CVICU) team. This position requires a strong background in cardiac care, with specific expertise in advanced cardiac devices.

Position Details

• Contract Length: 13 weeks
• Shifts: Rotating Night/Days (19:00-07:30 / 07:00-19:30)
• Hours: 3x12 or 4x12 accepted
• Weekends: Every other weekend required
• Holidays: Required as scheduled

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to adult and geriatric patients in a high-acuity cardiac environment.
• Monitor and manage patients with complex cardiac conditions, including cardiogenic shock, heart failure, and arrhythmias.
• Utilize advanced cardiac support devices, including IABP and Impella.
• Perform critical procedures such as bedside central line and arterial line insertions, bronchoscopy, chest tube insertion, and PA catheter insertion.
• Implement targeted temperature management and continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) as required.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Maryland required.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications required.
• Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI) certification required.
• National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS) and Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certifications are preferred.
• A minimum of 2 years of CVICU experience is required; first-time travelers with strong skills and experience will be considered.

• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Number of Beds: 15
• Average Daily Census: 10
• Patient-to-Nurse Ratio: 1:1, up to 3 with stable, lower acuity patients
