Job Summary
Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular Nurse - Location: Not Specified. This role involves performing independent nursing functions and delegated medical responsibilities within the ICU setting. The position requires assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care while ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and promoting patient well-being.
Job Details
- Position Description: Performs independent nursing functions and delegated medical functions in accordance with accepted practice standards as defined by the state Board of Nursing. Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates nursing care. Evaluates health status through the ongoing collection and assessment of health data. Performs health teaching and health counseling. Provides therapy and treatment that is supportive and restorative to life and well-being either directly to the patient or indirectly through consultation with, delegation to, supervision of, or teaching of others. Executes delegated medical functions. Refers patients as needed for further evaluation or treatment. Reviews and monitors therapy and treatment plans. Documents in accordance with hospital and regulatory guidelines. Uses resources as needed. Promotes mission, vision, and values of the organization, and abides by service behavior standards. Performs other duties as assigned. May be required to float to other departments (within scope of competency and qualifications) based on business need. May be required to be placed on-call during a regularly scheduled shift.
- Schedule: Nights, 3 days per week, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week, from 1900 to 0730.
- Required Qualifications: Valid RN license in the state of practice, BLS (American Heart Association), ACLS (American Heart Association), NIH Stroke Scale certification, and at least 2 years of ICU CVICU experience.
- Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience as a registered nurse in a critical care setting.
- Additional Information: May be required to float within scope of competency and qualifications based on operational needs and may be placed on-call during scheduled shifts.
