General Information
Tell us about the unit(s):
· Number of Beds - 12
· Number of Staff – 34
· Type of staff:
o Day Shift – RNs, Clinical Coordinators (2 on dayshift and 1 on nightshift), nurse techs
o Nightshift- RNs, Clinical Coordinators (2 on dayshift and 1 on nightshift), nurse techs until 2300
· Patient Ratios – typically 2:1, sometimes 1:1, sometimes 3:1 if tele assignment and no beds to transfer patient
· Type of equipment – IABP, PA cath, LVADs, RVADs, ECMO, chest tubes, spinal drains, foleys, temporary invasive cardiac pacing wires, pleurex drains, pneumostat drains, ventilators, A-lines, central lines, computers, glucometers, lifepack, SVO2 monitors,
· EMR - Meditech
Typical hiring profile
Skill Set Most recruited for:
Must have: candidates without these skills will not be considered for the role.
· 3 years ICU experience (prefer CVICU experience)
· ACLS & BLS
· IABP experience
· PA cath experience
· CVVH experience
Preferred or nice to have: candidates with these skills will be considered first.
· CCRN, CCRN/CSC/CMC
· LVAD training
· ECMO experience
List typical procedures performed on unit(s):
· Recovering open heart surgery patients at bedside right from OR
· Chest tube insertion
· Receive vascular surgery patients from PACU
· CVVH initiation (dialysis RN to assist with start of therapy)
· Respond to rapid response or code blue for our designated areas

REQUIRED CERTIFICATIONS:
· ACLS & BLS
Floating Areas:
· Tele units, med/surg units, other ICUs, stepdown units
Dress Code:
· Scrub Color/Attire – navy scrubs. No hoodies, fleeces, or winter jackets while on shift
Unit Guidelines/Policies:
· We have policy stat for all facility policies.
Weekends and On call(if any)
· Every other weekend (nightshift: Friday and Saturday nights, dayshift: Saturday and Sunday).
