Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular (ICU OH) nursing position is based in a highly specialized ICU within a major healthcare facility. The role involves providing advanced and complex care to adult and geriatric patients with cardiac and thoracic surgical needs, heart and lung transplants, and patients with various medical devices. This dynamic unit demands highly skilled nurses capable of managing multiple acuity levels, utilizing advanced technological equipment, and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Rotating shifts, 12 hours shift times, working 0700-1930 and 1900-0730, with every other weekend, some holidays, no call. Minimum hours per week: 36.0.
- Required Qualifications: Active Wisconsin or compact registered nurse (RN) license, ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), BLS (Basic Life Support), 2 years of recent acute care experience within the last 3 years in the specialty listed, ICU Cardiovascular experience required, proficiency with electronic charting systems such as Epic, experience with complex cardiovascular patient management including arterial lines, CVVHD/CRRT, Impella, IABP, LVAD, and Telemetry interpretation, and ability to pass strict telemetry interpretation testing with two attempts.
- Preferred Qualifications: Experience in cardiothoracic surgery, lung transplant, heart transplant, and familiarity with specialized procedures like TAVR, Valve Repair/Replacement, and use of advanced cardiovascular equipment.
- Additional Information: Candidate must be prepared to float as needed. Inpatient RN travelers are expected to have at least two years of recent acute care experience in a similar high-acuity setting. The unit is equipped with advanced medical devices including CRRT machines, Impella, IABP, LVAD, ECMO, and Telemetry monitoring. Traveler will need to pass a Telemetry test prior to start with a maximum of two attempts; failure after three attempts will result in cancellation of the assignment. The position starts on 10/12/2026 and ends on 01/11/2027, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
