Job Summary:
The Intensive Care Unit Cardiovascular registered nurse position is based in New York. This role involves delivering expert patient care, utilizing nursing theories and research, to a designated group of critically ill patients. The nurse will collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient, and compassionate care in a fast-paced environment.
Job Details:
- Schedule: Dayshift, 11.5 hours per shift, with minimum of 34.5 hours per week. Shifts typically operate on an every-other-weekend basis.
- Required Qualifications: NYS Registered Nurse (RN) License, Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, at least 2 years of post open heart and cardiac care unit experience, and a minimum of 2 years of RN experience. Experience in electronic health record systems such as EPIC is highly preferred.
- Preferred Qualifications: Bachelor of Science degree with a major in nursing is preferred; relevant experience and/or active enrollment in a BSN program considered for associates degree holders.
- Additional Information: The role requires performing charge nurse duties, managing supplies, facilitating patient throughput, and participating in quality improvement initiatives. Candidates should demonstrate excellent organizational skills, strong clinical competence in ICU settings, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a multidisciplinary team.
