CVICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced CVICU Registered Nurse to join our cardiac care unit. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in post-operative cardiac care and be skilled in managing critically ill patients.

Shift Details

• Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00)

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care for fresh open-heart admissions from the operating room.
• Monitor and manage pressure lines, including Swan-Ganz catheters.
• Utilize Impella and CRRT devices in the care of patients.
• Adhere to established protocols and best practices in cardiac care.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with a minimum of 2 years of experience in a CVICU setting.
• Must have hands-on experience with direct open-heart admissions and cardiac surgery skills.
• Experience with ACT (Activated Clotting Time) is required.
• Certifications: ACLS, BCLS, and NIH Stroke Scale.

Additional Information

• Contract length: 13 weeks with possible extension.
• Ratio of patients per nurse is 1:2 based on patient acuity.
• Scrubs are not provided.
• Electronic Medical Records (EMR) system used is Cerner.
