Job Summary:
Intensive Care Unit Float Nurse position available in Minocqua, Wisconsin. The role involves providing specialized critical care services across multiple units such as Medical-Surgical, Intermediate Care, and Intensive Care. The position requires flexibility to float within the hospital's designated units and deliver high-quality patient care to a diverse adult and pediatric population.

Job Details:

  • Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, with a minimum of 36 hours per week.
  • Required Qualifications: Valid nursing license, ACLS (American Heart Association), BLS (American Heart Association), and PALS (American Heart Association) certifications. A minimum of 2 years of ICU experience is required, with a preference for candidates with pediatric ICU experience.
  • Preferred Qualifications: Experience with pediatric critical care and float nurse experience across multiple intensive care units.
  • Float: Float rotation may be required to ED, PACU, and Urgent Care units as needed.
  • Additional Information:
    • Must be able to read rhythm strips and respond appropriately.
    • RNs are required to titrate drips, including Heparin, insulin, amiodarone, cardizem, PCA fentanyl, Propofol, and Norepinephrine.
    • Tele monitors are managed by tele techs in Weston, but reading rhythm strips is necessary for reporting purposes.
    • Charge nurses may take assignments; house supervisors do not.
    • Nurse aides are available on the unit with ratios of approximately 1:8-10, supporting nursing staff.
    • Equipment includes CPAP, BIPAP, Vapotherm, Servo U ventilators, and Hamilton ventilators, with RTs available 24/7.
    • Shifts are scheduled in block format, with weekend and holiday rotations. Call standby is required during low census periods.
    • Floating to Emergency Department, Urgent Care, and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit is expected as needed.
    • Proper scrubs are navy for RNs and teal blue for CNAs.
    • Orientation includes a computerized training day and 1-2 days of on-shift orientation.
    • Clinicians previously employed by this organization must have an end date on prior employment at least 6 months before submission.
    • Valid state licensure is required for submission.
