Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse (RN General, Dialysis, Mental Health) Specialty: Staff Augmentation Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Multiple Hours per Shift: 12 Hours Experience: Minimum Years of Experience Required License: Registered Nurse License Required Certifications: Relevant Certifications Required Must-Have: Must be available any shift and all days of the week. Description: Provides professional nursing care to patients housed in state-operated facilities. Observes, assesses, and records symptoms, reactions, and progress of patients. Makes nursing rounds and takes and records vital signs. Prepares and administers prescribed medications and treatment plans. Monitors patients who are restrained and provides immediate medical attention to emergencies. Administers first aid, arranges transportation to emergency rooms, and contacts physicians when necessary. Counsels patients regarding the need for medical referrals. Schedules, assigns, and reviews work of lower-level staff if assigned. Participates in staff development and education. Reviews care plans written by staff and trains and orients new employees. In corrections medical settings, is responsible for all healthcare needs for bedridden patients. Evaluates care needed and rendered and teaches healthcare principles. Administers medication, including narcotics, and performs specialized procedures. Organizes and oversees emergency response teams and directs healthcare staff assigned to the area. Acts as lead worker in charge of an assigned team.
