Registered Nurse – Correctional / Med-Surg & Telemetry

Nashville, TN | Inpatient – Locked Incarcerated Unit
Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a locked incarcerated inpatient unit; candidates must be comfortable working with a correctional/prison population
- Float as required to other Med/Surg, Telemetry, Forensics, and inpatient units, with potential float to ICU
- Maintain compliance with all facility policies, including a strict no-call policy
- Participate in mandatory holiday rotation, expected to work 3 of 6 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Complete required HealthStream pass/fail competency exams within 48 hours of assignment and all compliance requirements prior to start
Required Qualifications
- Valid Tennessee state RN license or compact multi-state license required at time of submission; active license with no pending status accepted
- Current Nursys report required at time of submission
- Minimum 1 year of RN experience required; first-time travelers accepted
- Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIH Stroke Scale, and CPI (MAB accepted in lieu of CPI)
- All certifications must be included in the submission packet
- Local candidates are welcome
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in Med/Surg, Telemetry, or Forensic nursing settings
- Prior experience working in a correctional or secure inpatient environment
- Familiarity with ICU-level patient care or cross-unit float assignments
