Job Summary – Clinical Documentation Specialist RN (Beaverton, OR, Remote, PST)

- Conducts utilization management activities, evaluating appropriateness and medical justification of health services for MCO eligibles.
- Researches, develops, and implements medical policies and facilitates Medical Policy Committee work.
- Provides medical treatment reviews, case management, and treatment interventions to promote cost-effective care and early return to work for workers’ compensation cases.
- Identifies and coordinates Continuous Quality Improvement projects, provider profiling, benchmarking, and provider education.
- Manages health care resources while fostering positive relationships with workers, insurers, providers, and facilities.
- Performs prospective and retrospective reviews of health service requests using established policies and criteria.
- Collaborates with physicians, medical directors, and committees on medical policy issues and cases.
- Identifies, investigates, and refers potential quality of care issues; oversees data collection and analysis.
- Acts as liaison with Utilization Management and Care Management teams.
- Tracks disputed surgical cases, prepares litigation reports, and coordinates with legal counsel.
- Provides medical consultation and training to MCO staff and clients.
- Maintains timely and accurate documentation and coding in data management systems.
- Participates in team building, committee work, and continuous professional development.
- Supports provider offices in quality improvement program development and acts as liaison for utilization, quality, and access.
- Protects confidential information and ensures legal and ethical communication standards.
- Participates in MCO Quality Committee and initiates quality improvement actions as needed.

Requirements:
- Active Oregon RN license (required), BLS certification.
- 5 years clinical experience and 2 years in utilization review or quality assurance.
- Preferred: MSN, 2 years in medical case management, managed care, or workers’ compensation.
- EPIC documentation experience preferred.
- Must reside in Pacific Time Zone and be available full-time (Mon-Fri, 8a-5p).

Med Ninjas Job ID #11602. Pay package is based on 8 hour shifts and 40 hours per week (subject to confirmation) with tax-free stipend amount to be determined.
