The RN collaborates with providers and interdisciplinary teams to promote optimal patient outcomes, safety, and positive patient experience. The Ambulatory Registered Nurse (RN) provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care in an outpatient clinic setting, supporting individuals and families across the continuum of care. This role utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care; administer medications and treatments; perform clinical procedures; and provide patient education and care coordination in collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams. The Ambulatory RN ensures accurate documentation, adherence to infection control and regulatory standards, and efficient clinic operations while promoting quality outcomes, patient safety, and culturally responsive care. Patient Care: Performs comprehensive patient assessments and develops individualized plans of care. Implements and evaluates nursing interventions and patient responses. Administers medications and treatments safely and accurately per provider orders and policy. Recognizes changes in patient condition and initiates appropriate interventions or escalation of care. Provides patient and family education related to care, medications, and discharge needs. Delivers culturally responsive, patient-centered care. Nursing Judgment and Clinical Decision-Making: Consistent with the nursing scope of practice, nursing judgment is essential to the safe, effective, and accountable delivery of nursing care. The Registered Nurse independently applies critical thinking and professional judgment to perform and interpret comprehensive assessments and recognize significant changes in patient condition requiring nursing intervention or provider notification. Exercises independent nursing judgment in determining appropriate nursing actions, interventions, and priorities, and in identifying when consultation, collaboration, or escalation to a licensed independent provider is required. Develops, implements, evaluates, and revises individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs, responses, preferences, and clinical circumstances. Integrates clinical findings with ethical principles, cultural considerations, patient safety standards, and regulatory requirements when making nursing decisions.
