Seven Healthcare are seeking a dedicated Hospice RN for a travel assignment in South Dennis, MA. The role involves providing skilled nursing care and support for hospice patients in both home and facility settings. Key Responsibilities of the Hospice RN- Participate in inter-disciplinary patient case conferences as needed
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patients and respond appropriately
- Manage time efficiently and prioritize patient needs
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Interact efficiently and compassionately with patients, families, and coworkers
- Notify care providers of significant changes in patient condition
- Complete admissions and paperwork promptly
- Record clear and concise narrative documentation of care
- Clarify and obtain valid MD orders for care delivered
- Ensure completion of admission paperwork by 9am next business day
- Explain hospice philosophy and assess/admit patients as needed
- Implement the Plan of Care under physician direction
- Supervise Hospice Aides per regulations
- Assist in orientation of new staff as a mentor
- Assume additional responsibilities as assigned by manager
Requirements of the Hospice RN- Successful passage of VNA pre-hire medication test
- Current RN license in Massachusetts
- One year of nursing experience or six months with a BSN
- Preferred: Hospice Home Care experience, IV Certification, BSN, Computer skills
