Seven Healthcare are seeking a compassionate Hospice RN for a travel assignment in South Dennis, MA. This role requires skilled nursing care, supportive care, and effective pain and symptom management to maximize the quality of life for Hospice patients and their families. Key Responsibilities of the Hospice RN- Participate in interdisciplinary patient case conferences as needed
- Utilize critical thinking skills to assess patients and respond appropriately to critical changes
- Manage time efficiently and prioritize patient needs effectively
- Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
- Interact compassionately with patients, families, and co-workers
- Provide patient care with a caring attitude
- Notify care providers of significant changes in patient condition
- Complete admission and paperwork promptly
- Record clear, concise documentation reflecting skilled care
- Obtain and clarify valid MD orders for care delivered
- Ensure completion of admission paperwork by 9am the next business day
- Adhere to standards of nursing and hospice philosophy
- Explain hospice care philosophy and scope to patients and families
- Implement the Plan of Care under the attending physician's direction
- Supervise Hospice Aides every 14 days
- Assist in orientation of new staff as a mentor
Requirements of the Hospice RN- Successful passage of VNA pre-hire medication test
- Current RN license in Massachusetts
- One year of nursing experience required, or six months with a BSN
- Preferred: Hospice Home Care experience, IV Certification, Computer skills, and BSN
