License: RN - Registered Nurse of California required. Certifications: Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Bachelor's in Nursing preferred. Must-Have: - Broad knowledge base of healthcare delivery and case management within a managed care environment. - Comprehensive knowledge of Utilization Review, levels of care, and observation status. - Awareness of healthcare reimbursement systems preferred. - Working knowledge of laws, regulations, and professional standards affecting case management practice in an integrated delivery system. - Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment. - Strong verbal and written communication and negotiation skills. - Excellent time management skills. - Intermediate computer and technology skills. - Ability to promote teamwork and effectively function in teams. Description: This position requires a commitment to service excellence in all interactions. It entails promoting quality patient care and assuring a positive patient experience. The candidate must effectively communicate and promote cooperation between patients, families, physicians, nurses, and other partners. A general understanding of coding and DRG assignment processes is preferred. The role involves working in a high-volume environment with rapidly changing priorities. Strong collaboration and customer service skills are essential for promoting excellence in the patient experience. The ability to interact with key internal and external constituents is critical. Candidates should possess a broad knowledge of post-acute levels of care and associated regulatory compliance requirements.
