Job Title: RN Case Manager Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Case Management Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 10 hours (07:00 - 17:30) Experience: 2 years of case management/utilization review experience License: BSN Required Certifications: BLS Must-Have: - 2 years of case management/utilization review experience - Ability to float to other units as needed Description: This position is a float position. Candidates will float to other units where there is a case manager need. The shift is 4x10s, Monday through Friday. First-time candidates are accepted as long as experience requirements are met. No weekend coverage is required. Charting is done using an electronic health record system. Candidates should possess skills in care coordination, discharge planning, and medical necessity determination. Experience with appeals, denials, and concurrent reviews is also necessary. Knowledge of evidence-based guidelines is essential. Candidates should be familiar with quality improvement processes and retrospective reviews. Utilization of established criteria for medical necessity reviews is expected. Candidates must have the ability to coordinate care effectively across various patient age groups, including neonates, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. This role requires excellent communication and organizational skills to manage a diverse patient population effectively.
