Description

Job Opportunity – Case Manager RN – Alaska

Start Date: As soon as possible

Location: Anchorage, Alaska

Compensation: Details provided to qualified applicants

Schedule: 5x8 day shifts (Monday-Friday with rotating weekend coverage), shift times vary between 0700-1700. Every other weekend or 4 weekend days per 4-week schedule. 72 guaranteed hours per 2-week period.

Highlights:

  • Work at a prestigious Magnet-designated acute care hospital with 407 staffed beds and Level II Trauma designation
  • Focus on discharge planning and care coordination across all patient populations including neonates, pediatrics, adults, and geriatrics
  • Epic EMR system with comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, rapid response, pharmacy, and social services
  • Daily census of approximately 324 patients with manageable caseload of 30 patients
  • 13-week assignment with potential for extension, 24 hours of orientation provided
  • Free parking and scrubs provided

Requirements:

  • Active Alaska RN license (must be in hand prior to offer)
  • BLS certification preferred; ACM-RN certification preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years of acute care hospital experience required
  • Epic charting system experience required
  • Experience with discharge planning, care coordination, and utilization of InterQual criteria and Milliman guidelines
  • Knowledge of CMS guidelines, medical necessity determination, and prior authorization processes
  • Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from facility
  • Willingness to work 2 out of 3 major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year)
  • Ability to float within case management services as needed
  • Two professional references covering at least 1 year within the last 3 years
