Job Description
The Registered Nurse provides safe, individualized, age-appropriate patient care using the nursing process. Responsibilities include patient assessment, care planning, implementation and evaluation of nursing interventions, patient and family education, and advocacy to promote quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities
- Assess, prioritize, and document patient and family needs.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans in collaboration with patients, families, and the healthcare team.
- Provide safe nursing interventions and adapt care based on patient responses.
- Monitor patient progress and document outcomes.
- Identify patient and family education needs and evaluate understanding.
- Advocate for patient rights and encourage participation in care decisions.
- Address communication barriers and cultural needs to establish therapeutic relationships.
- Coordinate care with interdisciplinary teams and ancillary staff.
- Delegate tasks according to team members’ scope of practice and competency.
- Recognize complex or high-risk clinical situations and seek additional resources.
- Participate in patient care conferences and coordinate referrals.
- Maintain accurate documentation, including IPOC and IPER, in accordance with facility policies.

Education & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of recent RN experience.
- Minimum 2 years of recent specialty-area experience.
- At least 2 years of recent acute care experience required; Kaiser and outpatient experience do not qualify.
- Active California RN license and current CPR certification required.
