Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse Case Manager – South Lake Tahoe, CA 96150
Start Date: November 16, 2026
Location: South Lake Tahoe, California – situated at nearly 6,200 feet above sea level in a beautiful mountain community
Schedule: 10-hour day shifts, 40 guaranteed hours per week, 91-day assignment through February 13, 2027
Highlights:
- Work in a non-profit community health system serving both residents and visitors to the Lake Tahoe region
- Provide case management services across the entire hospital including inpatient, emergency department, outpatient, PACU, and all hospital units
- Coordinate patient care across the continuum including utilization management, discharge planning, transfer coordination, and clinical documentation improvement
- Serve diverse patient populations from newborn through geriatric in a Level III Trauma Center with 63 acute care beds
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary care teams to optimize clinical outcomes and ensure appropriate levels of care
- Utilize InterQual criteria for utilization review and work directly with patients, families, physicians, and healthcare team members
Requirements:
- Current California RN license or ability to obtain prior to hire date
- Completion of an accredited nursing program; Bachelor's degree preferred
- 3 years of experience in the last 10 years in an acute hospital setting required (or Master's in Case Management)
- Hospital experience required; recent acute hospital or managed care case manager experience preferred
- Current CPR/BLS certification by the American Heart Association
- Certified Case Manager (CCM) preferred
- Strong computer skills required; database management experience preferred
- Course on introduction to CDI or completion within 6 months of employment
- Utilization review, discharge planning, and clinical documentation improvement experience preferred
- Knowledge of InterQual and insurance regulations including State and CMS rules preferred
