The nurse will typically manage a maximum of 4 patients per exercise hour. Average daily patient load will range from 30 to 35 for standard cardiac rehab and 35 to 40 for intensive cardiac rehab. The nurse will work with patients recovering post cardiovascular interventions, including cardiac surgery and catheterization procedures. Knowledge of heart rhythms is essential, as RNs will be responsible for interpreting strips during patient care. No monitor techs are available on this unit. The nurse will not be required to titrate drips. The environment emphasizes manual blood pressures taken consistently during exercises. Support for educational videos related to healthy living and nutrition will be provided. There will be no block scheduling, and the shifts will typically fall on Tuesday through Friday. This role does not require weekend or holiday shifts. There is no call or standby requirement associated with this position.
