Schedule / Job Type
Contract | Days | 4x10-Hour Shifts | Monday–Friday, 6:30 AM–5:00 PM | On-call expected approximately 10 days/month, including one weekend/month
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled circulating nursing care in a cardiovascular operating room environment serving adult and geriatric patients
- Support a broad range of cardiac and thoracic procedures including CABG, valve repairs/replacements (Aortic, Mitral), TAVR, VATS, Thoracotomy, Robotic Thoracic Surgery, Ascending Aortic Aneurysm Repair, and more
- Utilize electronic health record system (EPIC) and PYXIS for documentation and medication management
- Apply SBAR communication standards and maintain compliance with unit protocols
- Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled, including weekend call coverage
- Maintain current BLS certification and demonstrate competency in circulating duties throughout the contract
Required Qualifications
- Active NC RN license or valid Compact RN license (pending licensure acceptable at time of submission)
- BLS (BCLS) certification required
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required
- Demonstrated circulating experience in a cardiovascular OR setting
- Candidates must be open to floating within or near the facility per unit needs
- Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible; a lower rate applies for local candidates
Preferred Experience / Skills
- CNOR certification preferred
- Scrub experience in a cardiovascular OR setting
- Familiarity with procedures such as Mitral Clip, IABP insertion/removal, Carotid Endarterectomy, and Robotic Thoracic Surgery
