Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in the Cardiac Operating Room (CVOR), assisting with cardiac surgical procedures
- Float within scope of practice to meet facility needs as required
- Participate in cardiac call coverage, with an expected minimum of approximately 6 call shifts per month (1 per weekday and 2 weekend shifts; weekend call shifts are 24 hours)
- Perform other OR cases as assigned when no CVOR cases are scheduled
- Complete required facility modules prior to start date; modules are time-sensitive and must be prioritized promptly upon assignment confirmation
- Document patient care using EPIC electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active or pending Registered Nurse (RN) license (pending license accepted)
- Minimum 2 years of direct CVOR experience required
- AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required at time of submittal
- NIHSS certification must be obtained prior to start
- All requested time off (RTO) must be submitted at time of initial submission; RTO added after submission will likely not be approved
- Local candidates are welcome and accepted at the same rate
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a teaching hospital environment
- Familiarity with EPIC charting system
- Ability to adapt quickly to facility-specific cardiac OR setup and workflows
