Key Responsibilities
- Provides holistic, individualized care to patients and families, progressing them toward self-identified goals using the nursing process.
- Develops, implements, and adapts comprehensive, age- and culturally appropriate plans of care in collaboration with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team.
- Evaluates patient and family progress toward care goals, documents responses, and adjusts interventions as needed.
- Identifies and addresses patient and family educational needs through individualized education plans, applying adult-learning theory to assess and revise teaching approaches.
- Serves as a patient advocate, encouraging participation in decision-making and upholding individual and family rights.
- Delegates and assigns care tasks to appropriate healthcare team members within their scope of practice, and coordinates with ancillary staff to expedite patient progress and workflow.
Required Qualifications
- Active California Registered Nurse (RN) license
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum of 3 years of recent RN experience in an RN role
- Minimum of 2 years of recent RN experience in a specialty area
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) setting
- Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively within an interdisciplinary healthcare team
- Experience with integrated plan of care documentation (IPOC/IPER) or similar clinical documentation systems
