    Registered Nurse (RN) – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

    Key Responsibilities
    • Assess the needs of each surgical patient and develop, implement, and evaluate an individualized plan of care, with patient safety as the top priority
    • Supervise activity in the operating room, anticipate and coordinate schedule changes, assemble equipment and supplies, and monitor the sterile field
    • Assist anesthesia as necessary during cardiovascular surgical procedures, including open heart cases
    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, physicians, the OR team, supervisors/managers, and ancillary departments
    • Provide leadership to the OR team throughout surgical procedures
    • Participate in staff development through preceptorship, in-services, educational meetings, and continuing education opportunities
    Required Qualifications
    • Active Michigan RN License (verified via LARA and/or Nursys)
    • Active American Heart Association (AHA) BLS Certification
    • Active American Heart Association (AHA) ACLS Certification
    • Minimum 3+ years of CVOR experience
    • Open heart experience required
    • Current skills checklist (within the last year) pertinent to CVOR specialty
    • 2 supervisory reference forms completed within the last two years
    Preferred Experience / Skills
    • Recent travel nursing work history highly preferred
    • Experience with robotic-assisted or minimally invasive surgical procedures
    • Familiarity with Epic EMR
