Travel Nurse RN - Cardiovascular Operating Room in Newark, NJ

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:30) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Circulate in the CVOR and Hybrid OR suite for complex cardiovascular and vascular surgical cases; scrub role preferred in addition to circulating
• Support high-acuity cardiovascular procedures including CABG, valve replacements, TAVR, aortic aneurysm repair, dissection, and VATs
• Assist with vascular cases such as endovascular AAA, carotid endarterectomy, arteriogram, angiogram, TCAR, AV fistula, and femoral popliteal bypass graft
• Participate in transplant cases; cardiac, lung, and/or kidney transplant experience is highly valued
• Float to the main OR for ortho, general, laparoscopic, GYN, robotic, ortho/neuro, vascular, and pediatric surgery cases as needed
• Fulfill on-call obligations: 24-hour on-call one weekend per month (Saturday/Sunday) and two weekday on-call shifts of 8 hours each (3–11 or 11–7)

Required Qualifications

• Active New Jersey RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• BLS certification required
• Minimum 2.5 years of CVOR experience
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records required
• Must be available to work 1 of 2 or 2 of 3 holidays per unit needs
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Scrub experience in the CVOR or Hybrid OR setting
• Transplant experience, particularly cardiac, lung, and/or kidney
• Experience with hybrid OR suite technology and state-of-the-art cardiovascular surgical equipment
• First-time travelers are welcome to apply
