Contract | Days | 4x10-hour shifts | Expected 40 hours/week | Monday–Friday with call rotation for nights, weekends, and holidays
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as Circulating Nurse, managing overall nursing care in the operating room and maintaining a safe, comfortable environment for cardiac, vascular, and thoracic surgical patients
- Support cardiac surgical procedures including CABG, valve repair and replacement, minimally invasive and robotic valves, TAVR, and LVAD placement
- Assist with vascular procedures such as open endovascular abdominal aneurysm repair, carotid stenting, angioplasty, peripheral vascular procedures, and amputations
- Participate in thoracic cases including open thoracotomy, VATS, esophageal/hernia repairs, bronchoscopy, esophagoscopy, and robotics
- Collaborate with the Surgical Technologist to perform counts of sponges and supplies to prevent foreign retained objects
- Maintain a 1:1 RN-to-patient ratio across up to 7 CVOR suites
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
- CVOR experience required
- Circulating experience required; scrub experience preferred but not required
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
- Prior travel nursing experience preferred
- Must reside at least 80 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with robotic-assisted surgical procedures
- Familiarity with minimally invasive cardiac or thoracic techniques
- Comfort working in a high-acuity, fast-paced surgical environment with complex patient populations
