Contract | Night Shift | 3x12-hour shifts (6:00 PM – 6:30 AM) | Friday, Saturday, Sunday | No on-call required | Holiday call may be required
Key Responsibilities
- Circulate complex cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgical cases including CABG, TAVR, LVAD, Impella, valve procedures, ascending and descending repairs, and heart and lung transplants
- Support a broad range of surgical specialties including Surgical Oncology, Colorectal, Pancreatic/Biliary MIS (Da Vinci), Plastics, Endocrine, and Bariatric procedures
- Provide skilled perioperative nursing care within a high-acuity, high-volume CVOR environment at a Level I Trauma Center and Magnet-designated teaching facility
- Utilize EPIC electronic health records for accurate and timely clinical documentation
- Wear a radiation badge at all times as required (badge provided by agency)
- Be prepared for potential assignment to emergency response teams during hurricane season (June through November)
Required Qualifications
- Active South Carolina RN license or multi-state RN license must be in hand at start of contract
- BLS and ACLS certifications required – must be American Heart Association (AHA)
- Minimum 2 years of CVOR experience required; first-time travelers to this setting accepted only with 5 or more years of experience
- Demonstrated ability to circulate complex cardiac and thoracic cases
- Must live at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; local candidates may be considered on a case-by-case basis
- All requested time off must be submitted at the time of application; approvals are based on departmental needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with advanced cardiac procedures such as LVAD, Impella, and heart and lung transplants
- Familiarity with Da Vinci robotic-assisted surgical platforms
- Prior experience in a Level I Trauma Center or Magnet-designated hospital environment
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
