Description

Job Title: CVOR RN Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Cardiovascular Operating Room Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day Hours per Shift: 8 hours (06:15 - 14:45) Experience: Highly prefer 3 years of solid experience; will review less if strong; must have trauma or major operating room experience. License: Must have an active Illinois license in hand or be in application process. Certifications: BLS required; ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Required experience in CVOR and general operating room; required skills include various surgical procedures related to cardiovascular, vascular, and thoracic surgeries. Description: The CVOR RN will work in a high-paced surgical environment. The average daily census is approximately 10 patients with 4 rooms/beds available. Candidates must be willing to be on call 1-2 nights a week and every fifth weekend. First-time travelers are accepted. Candidates should ideally have no more than 5 days of requested time off. Clients may call off up to 36 hours during the assignment without compensation for cancelled hours. Duties include scrubbing various cardiovascular and vascular surgeries, as well as endoscopic and thoracic procedures. Experience with aortic aneurysm repair, coronary artery bypass grafting, ECMO, and LVAD management is essential. Knowledge of laser safety, specimen handling, and universal protocol is required. Teaching hospital experience and Level II trauma experience are necessary. This position requires a collaborative approach, working within an interdisciplinary team for patient care. The role involves operating within established protocols and ensuring adherence to safety measures during procedures. Professional demeanor and strong communication skills are important for interacting with patients and team members. Candidates should be prepared for a dynamic, fast-paced work environment with diverse patient diagnoses.
