Shifts will begin at 0645 and conclude at 1715. Schedules will adjust to accommodate the surgical schedule. If no open-heart surgeries are scheduled, the nurse will assist in the operating room as needed. Two years of experience is required, but first-time travelers are accepted. No weekend or holiday shifts are required, except for call shifts. Participation in call is mandatory. Call shifts will occur from 1715 to 0630 on weeknights and from 0630 to 0630 on weekends. The amount of call may vary based on scheduling needs. The nurse will float within the service line. Primary work will be in open-heart surgery procedures. Experience as a first scrub in cardiac/open-heart procedures is preferred. Additional experience in endovascular/hybrid, neuro-spine, ENT, orthopedic, or robotic specialties is a plus. The role will include both scrub and circulator responsibilities. Experience in general operating room settings and hybrid operating room is also beneficial. Successful candidates should be prepared to quickly adapt to surgeon preferences.
