Description: To provide nursing care for patients following established standards and practices in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. To apply professional nursing theory and practice to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care. Constant interaction with internal and external customers, including patients, families, physicians, employees, and visitors. Assess patient and family learning needs, plan, and provide education, involving other disciplines as needed, and evaluate the effectiveness of teaching in achieving desired outcomes. Identify and respond appropriately to ethical issues in patient care. Provide nursing care in a non-judgmental manner that respects patient diversity and acknowledges patient rights. Serve as a resource to others in addressing ethical dilemmas in patient care. Initiate collaborative dialogue with physicians and coordinate multidisciplinary activities to plan, deliver, and evaluate patient care. Act as a patient advocate. Moderate noise level in the work area. Requires work under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours. May be required to take call and/or work weekends or holidays based on departmental needs.
