Key Responsibilities

• Circulate and scrub across multiple service lines including Cardiac/PV, Neuro, Ortho (primarily trauma), Robotics, GYN, Urology, General, Pediatrics, and Transplants in a high-volume OR environment
• Maintain a patient ratio of 1:1 and support an average of 35-50 cases per day with an expectation of turnover times under 20 minutes
• Operate and assist with specialized equipment including Da Vinci robotic systems, Stealth neuro-navigation technology, and Synthes/Stryker ortho trauma instrumentation
• Participate in a structured CVOR orientation including general OR acclimation, vascular circulating and scrubbing, and progressive cardiac case involvement including open heart scrubbing
• Float across multiple campuses as required
• Participate in on-call coverage, including weekend call; holiday coverage (1-2 winter holidays) may be required unless the unit is closed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 24 months of current/recent Operating Room experience, with CVOR experience required
• Strong and proficient experience in Cardiac, Vascular, and Thoracic procedures required; basic General Surgery circulating experience required
• Scrub experience, including open heart scrubbing, required
• Trauma Level II experience required
• Must have completed at least one prior travel assignment within the previous 15 months - first-time travelers are not eligible
• Active Iowa RN license or active Compact/Multistate RN license required at time of submission
• Active BLS certification through AHA (American Heart Association) or ARC (American Red Cross) required
• EPIC EMR experience within the previous 3 years required
• Valid Driver's License required
• All candidates must reside at least 50 miles from the facility based on driver's license address to be eligible

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Trauma Level I experience highly preferred
• Professional reference from a charge nurse, supervisor, nurse manager, director, CNO, or COO within the past 24 months preferred
• Experience both circulating and scrubbing preferred
