Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-acuity surgical support in a multi-service Level-II Trauma Center environment with 15 suites, including one hybrid OR
  • Support cardiothoracic, thoracic, and vascular surgical procedures alongside a team of cardiothoracic and vascular surgeons
  • Circulate across core OR service lines as needed
  • Fulfill on-call obligations, including four weekday call shifts (Monday-Friday, end of shift until 7:00 AM) and four weekend call shifts covering day (7:00 AM-7:00 PM) and night (7:00 PM-7:00 AM) on Saturdays and Sundays per month
  • Document accurately using EPIC EMR
  • Float to other units based on facility needs as requested
Required Qualifications
  • Active, unrestricted RN license - Virginia state license or compact license required; license must be in hand or proof of compact license provided at time of submittal
  • BLS certification required (American Heart Association)
  • ACLS certification required (American Heart Association)
  • PALS certification required (American Heart Association)
  • EPIC EMR experience required
  • Specialty (CVOR) experience within the last year required
  • NIH and stroke education required
  • One supervisory reference required at time of submittal
  • SSN required at time of submittal
  • Locals are welcome and accepted
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • Scrub experience in cardiothoracic or vascular procedures
  • Broad general OR proficiency across multiple service lines
  • Experience in a high-volume or trauma-designated surgical environment
