Description

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide perioperative nursing care within a CVOR setting supporting approximately 7 cases per day across 6 standard ORs and 1 Hybrid OR
  • Perform and maintain competency in sterile field techniques, including Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes as assessed through a SIMs Lab evaluation
  • Manage a variety of complex cases including open heart, vascular, endovascular, thoracic, esophageal, general, hepatobiliary, and transplant (lung, liver, and kidney) procedures
  • Fulfill mandatory on-call obligations of 1-2 nights per week, plus expected call coverage of 1 weekend of first call and 1 weekend of second call per month
  • Float as needed to General OR or BNI OR
  • Serve in a charge nurse capacity as required
Required Qualifications
  • Active RN license in good standing
  • BLS and ACLS certifications required
  • Demonstrated competency in sterile field technique; candidates must be able to pass a SIMs Lab skills assessment (pass/fail) covering Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes
  • Proficiency with Cerner/Surginet EMR
  • Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible
Preferred Experience / Skills
  • CNOR certification preferred
  • Prior experience in cardiovascular OR with exposure to open heart, transplant, or complex vascular cases
  • Experience working alongside CSTs in a high-volume surgical environment
